Festival chic

Festival season is hotting up and as Glastonbury hits the UK this week, we got inspired and decided to get into the hippy spirit. Festival fashion is all about being glam yet vibrant and we think this weeks look is the perfect mix - and its simple to achieve in a festival field!

To start the look we are applying a thin layer of moisturiser to get the skin smooth and glowing.

We want this look to be defined and strong so before we apply our foundation we are contouring the face. We're using our Bella&Bear Margay Cat brush and the BH Cosmetics contour and blush palette and we're sweeping the powder along the cheekbones, along the temples, around the jawline and down the sides of the nose and the crease of the eye. This will create extra depth and definition to the shape of the face.

For a flawless, festival ready skin we are applying a water proof foundation - we're loving MACs Pro Longwear waterproof foundation and, of course, we're buffing it onto the skin with our Bella&Bear Lynx Kabuki Brush. Be sure to buff in circles on the face for the smoothest most even finish.

Next, lets add some concealer to cover any problem areas and bring light to the face. Choose a concealer which is one shade lighter than your foundation and apply it to the area under the eyes, under the cheekbones, down the centre of the nose and across the forehead in a fan shape. Use your Bella&Bear Ocelot large concealer brush to stipple the concealer and blend it into your foundation.

Lets start work on the eyes. We want them to be defined and large looking so we are beginning with a matte cream eyeshadow and our Bella&Bear Jaguarundy brush and applying it all over the lid and right up to the brow bone. We're using the Zoeva 'Naturally Yours' palette for this look. To follow, we are using a matte taupe shadow and our Bella&Bear Leopard Cat pencil brush and we are going to apply it to the crease of the eye in a windscreen wiper motion. This will give the eye a more deep, doll-like look.

For eyeliner, we want to exaggerate and make the eyes look super large, so we are taking a gel liner (pssst, our fave is the Maybelline 24hr color tattoo in 'Timeless Black', its ultra budge proof) and our Bella&Bear Caracal eyeliner brush and we are slowly and carefully drawing in an extended wing - you can make this as exaggerated as you like, be adventurous! You can rest your pinky on the high-point of your cheekbone to keep your hand steady while drawing on the line.

To compliment this we are cleaning off our Caracal brush and using it again with some gold gel liner - we've used the Maybelline 24hr color tattoo in 'Eternal Gold'- and we're drawing it all along the bottom lashline and joining it up with the black eyeliner wing. This will give the eyes some gorgeous sparkle!

After applying a light sweep of our favourite waterproof mascara- Urban Decay 'CannonBall', we are using our  Bella&Bear angled tweezers to apply some gorgeous falsies - we've used the cult fave 'Ardell Demi Wispies' - use the tweezers to get the lashes as close to natural lashline as possible.

Let's fill in those brows to perfectly frame the eyes. We're starting by brushing the hairs into shape with the spoolie end of our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx brow brush and then we're using the angled brush end and some Anastasia Beverley Hills Dipbrow Pomade to fill in and define them. We've created a strong and defined brow for this look. Finish the brows by brushing them through with the spoolie end to disperse any product and then applying a light layer of Kiko brow fixing mascara.

To bring some colour back to the face we are taking our Bella&Bear The Leopard brush and we are dusting the cheeks and temples with a matte bronzer from the ELF Bronzing Quad.

Shimmer and glitter are pretty much festival essentials so we are going to bring some to the face by using our Bella&Bear Tiger Large Powder Brush and an iridescent eyeshadow - we're using 'Milky Way' from the  BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic palette - and we are applying it as a highlighter; to the cheekbones, down the centre of the nose, on the brow bones and onto the temples. The purple shimmer of this shadow is so gorgeous in the light.

Lets really get into the festival spirit by adding some gems to the skin. We're going with bronze and we picked these up on eBay. We're applying them in a crown like design along the top of the brows. To apply them neatly we are picking them up one at a time with our Bella&Bear pointed tweezers and applying a little lash glue to the back and then gently pressing them onto the skin. Hold in place for a couple of seconds to allow the glue to dry.

To finish, we are applying a nude lipstick - we're using 'Velvet Teddy' by MAC - and we are then using the same gold gel liner to create a small design on the centre of the lips. This gives an almost tribal feel to the look!

To pull the look together we are spritzing the face with glitter - we adore the BodyShop glitter puff . We have also added some thin braids to the hair and applied some metallic temporary tattoos to the neck and hands for full on festival glam!

Make sure you don't forget to spray the face with a make up setter - we love Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - to keep your new creation in place all day (and night!) long!
