We all love a bold red lip, but how about switching it up a little this Valentines day with a hot berry pout?! In this tutorial we will show you how to get this smokin' look just perfect for Valentines day - and, if you use our gorgeous new 15 piece professional brush set, it couldn't be easier!

Lets begin ...

Start with a cleansed and moisturised face and neck. 

Good preparation like this allows make up to have a good base and stay in place for hours! Apply a lip balm to make sure your lips are soft and not cracked - this will make your lipstick application much easier later on. We love the EOS lip balms - they smell great and are super moisturising.

You can then apply your favourite primer all over your face. Doing this means that the appearance of pores will be minimised and make up will look flawless! Our favourite is the Maybelline Baby Skin anti fatigue blur primer.

For model worthy bone structure, it is important to contour the face. Using a matte bronzing or contour powder and your ‘Leopard’ tapered face brush, apply the powder to your cheekbones, down the sides of your nose, your temples and just under your bottom lip for a perfect pout! We love to use the ELF Contour Blush & Bronzing duo in 'St. Lucia' for this!

For a flawless complexion, just use your 'Lynx' flat kabuki brush to apply your favourite foundation. This brush buffs on the perfect amount of base product for a light but smooth finish! We are loving the Maybelline Dream flawless nude liquid foundation!

To bring some light and life back into the face just use your Ocelot large concealer brush to seamlessly apply your concealer. We recommend applying it on the forehead, under the eyes, down the centre of the nose and, to accentuate those lips, along the cupids bow and tip lip line. Our favourite concealing product is the Collection lasting perfection concealer.

Then, to ensure everything stays in place all night long, apply your powder product with your gorgeous Tiger large powder brush! We love the ELF HD powder.

After prming the eyelids you can begin to apply a light pink shimmer shade all over the lid using your 'Sand cat' brush. A light colour like this will mean that your look wont be too over the top and will balance out the bold, berry lip wonderfully.

We are loving the Wet'N'Wild 'Walking on Eggshells' shadow trio.

You can then pick up some light brown shadow on your 'Borneo Bay Cat' Tapered Blending brush and apply it just into the crease of the lid. Doing this will give the eye a wonderful shape - just like a porcelain doll!

To frame the eyes and give them some powerful definition, use your 'Caracal' Eye Liner Brush and your eye liner product to create an extended wing - carrying it down to the tear duct and on the outer third of the lower lash line. This extended shape will make the eyes look large and hypnotic.

Our go to product is the ELF Cream eye liner - it lasts forever and applies so smoothly!

To accentuate the eyes further, apply a coat of your favourite mascara.

Our top tip is to brush the lashes inward as then the mascara will catch each lash and really pack a punch. We love using the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara - its super black and separates lashes beautifully!

For a dramatic effect apply some black liner into your lower waterline. This will make the eyes look smoky and interesting.

For a special date look, we also applied some false lashes, like these Bourjois smoky eye effect lashes. This will give the eyes a full-on girly look and you can bat those lashes 'til your hearts content!

Hold the lashes steady and apply them as close to the natural lash line as possible - we achieve this with our very own slanted tweezers from our 'The Pluckers' set!

You can also fill in your brows now with your preferred product - try to keep them natural but defined and shaped!

To add some colour and depth back into the face, take your 'Leopard' tapered face brush and a contour powder - like Hoola by Benefit and gently dust it over your cheek bones and temples.

You can then apply some blusher to the cheeks for an adorable glow - we are using this rose pink shade from the ELF Contour Blush & Bronzing duo and our 'Cheetah' duo fibre powder brush.

To highlight the face and give it some more definition just take a light pearl eye shadow and your 'Jungle Cat' highlighter brush and gently dust your browbone, apples of your cheeks, tip of your nose and your cupids bow! Perfect!

And finally, for a pout to remember, begin by lining and filling in the lips with a pencil - this will give you an accurate guide and ensure precise application. 

Then go in with a gorgeous berry lip product - we love the NYX soft matte lip cream in 'Copenhagen' - and your 'Rusty Spotted Cat' lip brush and begin to carefully fill in the lips!

 That's it!

You're ready and glowing! That pout will linger on the mind long past valentines day and, when teamed with a simple side braid, this look is is sure to turn heads wherever your date may take you!
