Earthy Mothers Day Makeup
On Mothers day, lots of us will gather together with family to celebrate, so why not get all dressed up for the occasion? In today's post, we're showing you how to get this warm and earthy makeup, finished with a sleek hair do!
To start, we're going to work on a flawless skin. Were begining by priming the skin with some Evio Green Tea Primer ; working it over the face with our hands.
Next, we're going to use a full coverage foundation. We're working some Estee Lauder Double wear foundation over the face using our Bella&Bear Jaguar angled kabuki for a streak free, smooth complexion - also working the product slightly down the neck to avoid tide-lines.
To bring light to the skin and disguise any problem areas we are going to next use some concealer - be sure to choose one which is one shade lighter than your foundation for maximum effect. We're working some Essence Camouflage concealer onto the skin using our Bella&Bear Ocelot large concealer brush.
We're then going to set that concealer in place using a translucent powder. We're pressing some Essence All About Matte powder on top of that concealer using our Bella&Bear Leopard Face brush.
For a warm glow to the skin we're going to use a dusty toned blush. We love the Essence Matte touch blush for thus look and we're working it onto the apples of the cheeks using our Bella&Bear Tiger brush.
We also want to add a subtle healthy glow to the skin so we are going to use our Bella&Bear Bobcat brush to work a matte bronzer around the hair line, on the temples and around the jawline. We're using the ELF Bronze quad here.
Finally, we're gonna lock that all in place using a setting spray. We're spritzing the skin using some Revolution Oil control fixing spray.
Working on the eyes now, we're starting with a primer to give our colours a more intense finish and to keep them in place. We're working some TooFaced Shadow Insurance primer over the lid and up to the brow bone.
To even out the lid we're next going in with a matte ivory shadow, working over the lid and up to the brow bone using our Bella&Bear Sand Cat brush. We're using the ChiChi Cosmetics Spices Palette for this look.
Let's take a matte brown shadow now. Using our Bella&Bear Jaguarundy brush we are working it over the lid, pressing the colour on and building it up until happy.
Now, for a little contrast, we're taking a shimmer brown shadow and we're working it directly onto the centre of the lid using our Bella&Bear Golden Cat brush. We're lightly spraying the brush with some setting spray first to really grab that colour and keep it intense.
Using our Bella&Bear Bornean Bay Cat brush we're also going in with a matte taupe shadow and we're working it into the crease of the eye in a windscreen wiper motion to act as our transition shade and keep the shadow edges soft and blurred.
Lets line and define the eyes now. Taking our Bella&Bear Caracal liner brush and some ELF Gel liner, we are creating a long, fine wing along the upper lash line, you can draw this in thicker if you prefer.
For our lashes, lets start by curling them using our Bella&Bear Eye&Mighty Lash Curler for a fanned out look. We're setting that curl with our fave mascara - Benefit They're Real. We also wanted to add some subtle lashes to this look, so taking our Bella&Bear Angled tweezers, we are placing some Ardell Demi Wispies lashes as close to the natural lash line as possible for an undetectable finish.
Moving on to the lower lash line now, we are filling in the waterline with some kohl pencil - we love the TooFaced Perefct eyes liner - and we are working some of that same matte brown shadow along the lash line using our Bella&Bear Marbled Cat brush, gently smoking it out.
Finally, we are going to frame the eyes with a sculpted set of brows. Taking the spoolie end of our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx Brow Brush we are brushing through the hairs to tame and shape them. Then, using the brush end we are working some Revolution Brow pomade through the brows to sculpt them and fill in any sparse areas. You can go in again with the spoolie to disperse the product for a softer, more natural finish too!
Taking it back to the skin now, we're going to use our Bella&Bear Brush on You Detangling brush to create some faux freckles! We simply work some brow pomade onto the bristles using our brow brush and then press the brush over the cheeks and nose for a natural-looking freckle pattern (You can find full details on the hack here).
We also want a nice glow to the skin, so using our Bella&Bear Cheetah Duo Fiber powder brush we are gently dusting the cheekbones, the tip of the nose, the cupids bow and the brow bones with some Jouer Powder highlight. We also pressed some onto the inner corners of the eyes.
Finally, for our lips we're also going brown (nude would look beautiful too!). So, we're first lining them with some, to keep our lip product from bleeding out. We're then using our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip brush to apply some Limecrime Velvetine in Salem onto the lips for a smooth and even finish.
And, just for a little insurance we're going to spritz the face once more with the Revolution Oil Control Fixing spray to really keep everything life-proof.
For our hair, we want a pulled back, sophisticated 'do. So, we're first brushing through our locks with our Bella&Bear The Bear paddle brush to get rid of any tangles and knots.
We then use our Bella&Bear Brush on You comb to pull our bangs or just a small section of hair to the front of the face, keeping it separate from the rest with a hair clip.
Then we're going to spritz our roots with some Got2B Fresh It up Dry Shampoo and use our Bella&Bear Brush on you comb to lightly backcomb the hair, giving it volume and height!
Then, we pulled our hair back into a high ponytail and secured it in place, followed by releasing that front section we kept by, pinning it by the root of the ponytail for height in the front!
