Festive warm beverages to make at home!

When Jack Frost starts nippin at your nose, its time to head inside and warm up with a lovely warm, toasty drink! Today we're sharing our top recipes and the best bit is, they're all vegan!

1. EGGNOG LATTE

A twist on the classic eggnog, with some caffeine added in for good measure - this warming drink will leave you feeling all festive and lovely! Its simple to make and so, so yummy!

You'll need;

  • 2 cups non-dairy milk
  • Fresh Brewed espresso
  • 3 tbsp eggnog coffee syrup
  • Vegan spray cream
  • Ground nutmeg 

 To make it ;

  • Begin by gently heating the milk until small bubbles appear and slowly stir in the eggnog syrup - We love the Sweetbird syrups as they are the only range in the world which are suitable for vegans!
  • Then, fill 2 mugs to the half way mark with the fresh espresso
  • Carefully add the warm eggnog milk to the espresso to blend.
  • Generously top with spray cream and a sprinkle of ground nutmeg!

Yummy!

2 CLASSIC GINGERBREAD LATTE

Everyone loves a Gingerbread latte right? Sip it at home, or while you're doing a little Christmas shopping!

You'll need

  • 600ml of dairy-free milk 
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tsp golden caster sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon 
  • 2 tbsp Espresso powder
  • Vegan Spray cream
  • Vegan gingerbread biscuits
  • edible gold flakes / glitter

To make it;

  • In a saucepan, add in the dairy-free milk, molasses, sugar, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon and heat until everything has dissolved and is hot (around 7 minutes)
  • Stir in the espresso powder and blend until dissolved.
  • Pour the warm coffee into your glasses and finish with vegan spray cream, a gingerbread crumbles and sprinkling of gold dust.

3 PEPPERMINT SWIRL MOCHA

Hot chocolate or coffee?! This drink is perfect for when you just cant choose, with a dash of added peppermint extract for some yuletide cheer!

You'll need;

  • 3/4 cup strong coffee
  • 1/4 cup warm dairy free milk
  • 1/4 cup vegan dark chocolate chips
  • 1-2 drops pure peppermint extract
  • Snowflake Sprinkles
  • vegan spray cream

 To make it;

  • Start by brewing your coffee so it is nice and strong.
  • Warm your milk in a sauce pan but don’t allow it to boil.
  • Melt your chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments until completely smooth and melted.
  • Pour some coffee into your mug and add the chocolate and peppermint extract, stirring well to fully combine - be sure to only add a llittle peppermint at a time as it is very strong.
  • Add the milk and stir again to make it nice and creamy!
  • Top with some vegan spray cream and some snowflake sprinkles!

4. HOT CHOC-ORANGE

Chocolate and orange are the perfect pairing, aren't they?! This decadent drinks is creamy and indulgent and perfect for an evening in front of the fire!

You'll need;

  • 600ml dairy free milk
  • 1/4 cup dark choc chips
  • orange essence
  • vegan spray cream
  • vegan dark chocolate
  • 1 large orange

To make it;

  • Begin by melting the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments until smooth and melted.
  • Now, warm the milk in a small saucepan, but don't let it boil - add the orange extract here too, just a small amount!
  • Take off the heat and add the melted chocolate chips, gently blending it all together.
  • Pour into tall glasses and top with a dash of vegan spray cream.
  • Sprinkle over some more of your choc chips for a yummy flourish!
