How to be happy in 2019

A fresh new year is here and this is YOUR year! Grab it by the handles and guide it your way. Make things happen and live in the moment. make 2019 your happy year! In todays post we're sharing some of the best tips around to be happy everyday!

As good as a routine can be, it can stop us from appreciating the little things we have in every day life as we can take them for granted; things like a delicious meal, a sweet text message or even just a sunny day. Next time you start to feel a little overwhelmed think of all the positive things which have happened to you that day, maybe jot them down so you can run over them again and again! It will make you feel so much better to acknowledge all of the good things coming your way rather than focusing on what you 'don't have'.

'Appreciate the little things, for one day you will look back and realise they are the big things'

It can sometimes seem like a chore to get up and do a bit of physical activity, but even just 10 minutes each day will make you feel infinitely better! Once your done with your workout your body will feel energised and endorphins will give you adrenaline and a good feeling! You needn't hit the gym either, you could take a walk in the town, do some swimming, or if its a rainy day then get out your cleaning supplies at home and switch on some upbeat music - you'll have a clean home and a healthy bod!

'Take care of your body, its the only place you have to live'

Bad things happen, its unavoidable and just part of life. But, how you deal with the bad cards you are dealt is what will shape your future. It is easy to complain or get upset about the way you think things should have been, but instead, try to put a positive spin on it; what did you learn from it? How can you tackle it to grow as a person? How will it help you with future similar situations?
Slipping into pessimism after a hard time can be tempting, but it will only have a knock on effect and eventually cause you to always see the negative in things, so nip it in the bud and kick some butt!

'I am grateful for my struggle, because without it i wouldn't have stumbled across my strength'

Sleep is one of the most important things in fuelling your good mood. Sleep helps your brain to rejuvenate and 'clear' itself out so you can wake up in a good mindset and with a positive outlook. Being deprived of sleep can raise your stress levels, which no one wants, so take time to unwind and get a good sleep each night!

'Early to bed and early to rise makes a girl healthy, wealthy and wise'

Helping others is beneficial to all. Not only will it make that person feel happy, valued and special but it will make you feel so good too! Just be sure that you are not 'over-committing' and keeping some time aside for yourself too and you'll soon find that helping others positively influences your mood.

'Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it will change the world for one person'

Being happy doesn't equal having lots of material things. Often it is the experiences we have that enrich our lives the most, so expand on that and find experiences which will boost your mood and make good memories to last a lifetime.
Unlike material items, experiences don't wear off quickly and will be relived for years and years, they are also unique in comparison to material goods as they are a one-off, happening only to you, so you know you have something special and as personal as it gets.
Lastly, experiences are a social thing, making them invaluable. We as humans cherish time spent with others so its only natural that living (or reminiscing) experiences with friends will make us happy and boost our mood tenfold!

'There are seven days in the week, and “someday” isn’t one of them'
