Mythical Minotaur Look

If you're anything like us then you are already counting down the days til Halloween! So, we thought why not start with the Halloween inspo?! Today were going to show you hwo to create this mythical minotaur look - its part creature, part princess and totally gorgeous. Wear with with a simple black dress to knock 'em dead this Halloween!

As the eye make up on this look is kinda heavy we're going to start with them first - this way if there is any eye shadow fallout it wont spoil your base makeup. So, start by applying a primer over the lid, working it right up to the brow bone and below the lower lash line with your finger. We are using the Benefit Stay Don't Stray primer for this.

Although we want a dark, exaggerated eye for this look  we first need to apply our base shadow, so we are going in with a matte cream shadow and we are using our Bella&Bear Jaguarundy brush to work it over the lid and up to the brow bone - we are using 'Pure' from the Zoeva Naturally Yours palette for this.

We are also using a matte taupe shadow and working it into the crease of the eye as our transition shade, this means that any shadows we use will have softer edges rather than being harsh lines.

We are then taking a kohl pencil (we love Perfect Eyes liner by Too Faced) and working it around the eye  - along the crease, along the lash line and in a  v shape on the outer corner, we then used our Bella&Bear Marbled Cat brush to lightly work this over the lid. This will give our black eye shadow something to grip and make it super dark.

Then, using our Bella&Bear Black Footed Cat brush we are working a matte black shadow all over the lid and into that v shape - you can extend it here if you want a more dramatic look like we did. We also brushed it along the lower lash line to balance the eye out and not make it too top heavy. Again we used the Zoeva Naturally Yours palette for this.

Now we are going to add a hit of colour. Taking a dusty pink shadow we are pressing it onto the very centre of the lid with our Bella&Bear Ocelot brush, building the colour until you like. We used the Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo shadow in 'Pink Gold' here

We then used the MUA Fire Vixen palette, taking shadow '4' and quickly pressing it on top of the Maybelline shadow for a dazzling, mystical shine.

Once you've built up your colours and glitters to your liking its time to define the eye with some wicked liner. Use your Bella&Bear Serval Liner brush to apply a wing along the top lash line, following your eye shadow design. We used the ELF cream shadow here.

To deepen the look of the eyes we chose to ring the waterlines with that same TooFaced kohl pencil!

Then, we wanted to exaggerate those lashes so we are first curling them with our Bella&Bear Eye&Mighty Lash Curler for 20 seconds on each eye. Afterwards we applied a coat of our fave mascara - Benefit's They're Real - and finished by placing on a set of falsies. As this is a costume look we used a dramatic set (Eylure dramatic #202), but you can use which ever ones you like best. We like to use our Bella&Bear Angled Tweezers to apply the falsies as close to the natural lash line as possible for an undetectable look.

Lets go back in and frame those eyes. Taking our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx brow brush and some ABH DipBrow Pomade we are going to fill in and define the brows - you can exaggerate them more than usual if you like as this is a costume look. You can then use the spoolie end to brush though the brows and disperse any excess product for a softer finish.

We finished the brows by 'carving' them with our concealer, outlining them to really define the shape. We used the Essence Camouflage concealer and we blended it out with our Bella&Bear Golden Cat Small concealer brush.

Now its time to work on the skin. We're going for a flawless complexion for this look so lets start by applying a primer, we're using the KIKO Hydra Glow Pro, buffing it into the skin with our Bella&Bear Jaguar Angled Kabuki.

Follow this by applying a full coverage foundation - we love Estee Lauder's Double wear best. Apply this to your face and down the neck with your Bella&Bear Jaguar Angled kabuki, working the product outward on the face for a streak free, seam free finish.

Lets also apply some contour and highlight creams to create a stuctured and defined face - were using the Zoeva Spectrum cream contour palette for this. Using the contour cream and our Bella&Bear Margay Cat brush we are going to contour the hollows of the cheeks, the temples, the sides of the nose and the jaw. We are then going to apply the highlight cream to the area below the eyes, the forehead, down the centre of the nose, the chin and the area below the cheeks using our Bella&Bear Ocelot large concealer brush. Next, using our Bella&Bear lynx kabuki we are going to blend this all together to make it seamless.

We want to set this now and keep it all in place, so using our Bella&Bear Tiger powder brush we are going to lightly dust the face with some ELF Studio HD translucent powder.

We are then just adding a little depth to the complexion with a matte bronzer, We're using our Bella&Bear Bobcat brush to lightly dust the cheeks and temples with some Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

Finally, we are going to spritz the face with some Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to lock everything in place.

Of course we're gonna need a serious pout to go with those eyes so we are taking our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip brush and some Black Velvet liquid lip by Limecrime and we are carefully filling in the lips. Using our brush will give a precise and even application.

As a final touch we are taking a champagne highlight and our Bella&Bear Cheetah Duo Fiber Powder brush and we are generously dusting the high points of the face with it - think your cheekbones, the tip of the nose the cupids bow and the brow bones.

To finish the look and really give off that Minotaur vibe we added a faux septum piercing, you could use any colour but we used silver to compliment the pink used on the eyes.

After putting on our black floor length dress, we brushed through the hair with our Bella&Bear The Bear paddle brush to remove any tangles and created a centre parting for a sleek look.

And, of course, no Minotaur look would be complete without some killer horns. We picked up this cute flower and horn headband from Poundworld, but you can find some great ones online too, such as this one. Simply pop it on top of your hair and you're good to go!
