Pastel Inspired look for Spring time

With Spring time just around the corner, we thought it a good idea to put together a look inspired by the seasons sweetest colours - pastels.

Pastels are wonderful as they work with all skin tones, and they look so cute when blended together or even with an added touch of sparkle for ultimate sweetness. Pair your pastels with some wispy lashes to set the look and get ready to turn some heads.

We want a super flawless and fresh skin for this look so we are beginning by moisturising and applying a primer. A good skincare routine will see your skin looking at its best within a few days, so make sure you are always practising your skincare regimen, but applying some moisturiser just before your makeup will give your skin a boost, making it appear more flawless and glowy, so we are going in with the Superdrug Naturally Radiant 'Radiance Balm', this is infused with tiny golden flecks to give off a youthful appearance. After allowing the moisturiser to absorb, we applied our primer all over the face and neck using our fingers, we are loving the JellyPongPong All Over Glow at the moment as it makes the skin look super awake and fresh.

To follow, we picked up our Bella&Bear Jaguar Angled Kabuki Brush and a couple of pumps of the MakeUp Forever HD Foundation and we gently buffed all over the skin, working in outward strokes and circular motions to really get into all the angles and crevices of the face. Be sure to work your foundation down just slightly onto the neck, so that you don't end up with a 'tide-line' or two tone face.

Let's make sure we are looking awake and ready by applying a little concealer to any dark or blemishes areas. We are taking the Essence Stay All Day Concealer and our trusty Bella&Bear Golden Cat Small concealer brush to blend the concealer into our foundation with a seamless finish. Always blend concealer outward on the face so it brings as much light to your look as possible.

We want a dewy finish to this look, but it is important to set that concealer to prevent it from slipping and rubbing off throughout the day, so we are taking some E.L.F Studio HD Powder in 'Translucent' and our Bella&Bear The Leopard Powder Brush and we are gently dusting the powder only on the areas where our concealer was applied.

Let's begin working on those pretty eyes - this look is all about the colour so to ensure our shadows are working at their best we are starting off by applying an eyeshadow primer, not only will this keep our work in place but it'll also make the shadows more intense. We are using some Urban Decay primer Potion and we are working it onto the lid and up to the brow bone with our ring finger - this is the gentlest finger which means you wont drag and damage your delicate eye skin.

To follow we are going to take a matte pastel pink shadow and our Bella&Bear Sand Cat Brush and we are going to work the colour into the inner third of the eye, blending the colour well so it has a soft finish.

Then we are taking our Bella&Bear Bornean Bay Cat Brush and a matte pastel purple shadow and we are going to apply the colour to the remainder of the lid, working it into a simple wing on the outer corner of the eye and making sure to blend it in with the pink shadow. Isn't that just darling?!

For a little bit of sparkle we are taking a shimmer pink shadow and using our Bella&Bear Marbled Cat brush to gently line the lower lashes.

To define the eyes and add some contrast we are going to apply some black liner. We are using our amazing new Bella&Bear Serval Angled Liner Brush and some Morphe Brushes Gel Liner in 'Black Slate' to do this. We are starting at the mid point of the lashes and bringing the liner out to a wing on the outer corner of the eye, and then going back in to work the liner into the inner corner. You can keep adding to the wing until you are pleased with the shape and with how thick it is. Poppin'

Now, lets get onto those lashes. We are starting by taking our Bella&Bear Eye&Mighty Curlers and we are going to curl the lashes for 20 seconds each side for some super lift. Follow this by applying a thin coat of your favourite mascara, we love Urban decays Perversion mascara! As mentioned, we want to add some wispy lashes to the look to really set the eyes off, so we are taking our Bella&Bear Angled Tweezers and our RedCherry Lashes in style #WSP and placing the lashes as close to the natural lashline as possible, adjusting them and allowing them 30 seconds to dry. Of course, you could wear this look without the addition of false lashes if you prefer, if so, just go on to add another coat of your mascara!

Next, let's add a little colour to the cheek with a light or dusty pink matte blush. We are taking our Bella&Bear Cheetah Duo Fiber Powder Brush and a small amount of the BH Cosmetics Contour and Blush palette blush and we are gently dusting it over the apples of the cheeks. This will give a sweet look which will also compliment the colours used on the eyes. You could apply a little bronzer to the hollows of the cheeks and the temples using your Bella&Bear Bobcat Angled brush if you would like to add some structure to the face, but be sure to only do this lightly, though, as this look is intended to be youthful and whimsical!

As a final addition to the skin we are going to highlight - taking our Bella&Bear Jungle Cat Brush and some of the gorgeous IHeartMakeup Unicorn Heart highlighter, we are blending the colours together and applying it to the high points of the face - the cheekbones, the tip of the nose, the cupids bow and the brow bones.

For some sweet lips, lets add a dash of colour. First we want to prep the lips, so we are going to apply some balm to keep them soft and stop them from chapping. We are then going to line them to help our lipstick stay in place and apply neatly, so we are taking some Essence Lip Liner Pencil (use a shade in accordance with your lipstick), and we are just lining the natural shape of the lips with it.

We are now going to fill in the lips, and we have decided to use a pink lipstick (hint; ours is Gerard Cosmetics' 'Buttercup') , but if you are feeling a little more daring then you could try a pastel purple lippy to compliment the eyes - we love the NYX Macaron Lipstick in 'Lavender' for this. We have opted for a cream finish lipstick but you could really use whichever finish you prefer! We applied the colour using our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip Brush for ultimate precision and evenness.

To set the look in place we are going to spritz the face with a setting mist, the Urban Decay All Nighter is our fave - and it even has an exciting new look!
