Halloween Queen Look
Can you believe that its Halloween tomorrow? We cant wait and we wanted to give you some more outfit inspo!
In this post we are creating a gorgeous Halloween queen look which is both eerie and beautiful - and simple to create!
We are going to start, as always, with a clean, dry and moisturised face. It is so important to prep your face as it will allow your makeup to apply smoothly and last throughout the night.
Next we are going to apply our primer to the face and neck; we are using the Bourjois Happy Light Luminous primer.
We are following this with our foundation - use a shade which is lighter than your own skin to add to the haunted look. We are using the Makeup Forever HD Foundation and applying with our Bella&Bear 'Lynx' Kabuki brush for a flawless finish.
To cover any dark circles and blemishes we are using the Maybelline eye eraser concealer and blending it into the face with our Bella and Bear Ocelot concealer brush.
To set the base makeup in place we are using the ELF HD setting powder and our Bella and Bear Tiger large powder brush. It's not essential to use a powder here but we prefer to do so to ensure our makeup will stay in place for as long as possible.
Lets start with the eyes. We are priming our lids with the Urban Decay poriming potion and blending it in with our fingertips. This will help our eye makeup to not slide and it'll also bring out any colors we use.
For a base shadow we are using 'Foxy' from the Urban Decay naked 2 palette- but any matte cream color eyeshadow will do. We are blending this all over the lid and up to the brow bone with our Bella and Bear 'Sand Cat' brush.
We are then going to 'contour' the eye sockets with a black matte shadow like the one from the BH Cosmetics Eyes on the 60's palette. Just use your Bella & Bear 'Pampas Cat' brush in a windscreen wiper motion along the crease of the eyelid to add some shape and depth.
To give some glam to the eyes. take a shimmer grey shadow like 'Moon' from the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic palette and apply in the centre of your eyelid with your fingertip. This will keep the look beautiful glam rather than just spooky.
We are then taking our black shadow and our Bella & Bear 'Fishing Cat' pencil brush and applying it generously along the lower lashline and just under the eye. You can extend this as much as you like to give a spookier more 'sunken in' look.
To give the eyes further definition we are creating a slight winged liner on the upper lid. This will give the eye shape and sophistication. We are using the Maybelline color tattoo eyeshadow in 'Timeless Black' and applying with our Bella & Bear 'Caracal' liner brush.
Then take a black kohl pencil and line your lower waterline to pull the eyes together.
We are adding extra darkness to the look by filling in the brows with the same matte black shadow and our Bella & Bear Iberian Lynx brow brush. Give the brows an extra high arc to make the look more menacing.
Lets contour the face to help achieve that sunken in look. Use a grey matte brown powder like Hoola by Benefit and your Bella & Bear 'Jungle Cat' brush to contour down the sides of your nose, along your lower cheek bones and in the temples. Using the powder will give you that spooky hollowed out look adding to the overall effect!
You can then add a small amount of rose pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks with your Bella & Bear 'Cheetah' duo fibre powder brush. We are loving the Elf HD Blush in 'Headliner' blush. Adding a small amount of color will bring a spark of life and light to the face but wont take away from the darkness of the look.
The eyes are what will really draw people in with this look so keep the lips neutral and simple with a nude lipstick like the Rimmel Lasting finish by Kate in shade '03'
To really finish the eyes, lets add some dramatic lashes! You could use any you like for your look. We are using the Eylure exaggerate 156 lashes and applying by using our Bella & Bear slanted tweezers to steady our hands. We also applied some individual lashes along the lower lashline.
We are then applying our white mesh contacts to give the look an extra hit of 'creepy'. But this step is totally optional.
To bring the look together we are putting on this adorable spider web crown and also this enchanting bead drop necklace.
This is such a simple and elegant look with a fun Halloween twist and you could finish it off with any costume you can dream up!
