Island Flower Beach Party Look
Summer is finally on the horizon; long warm evenings, sandy toes and fresh fruit brunches! today, were celebrating all things summer with this beautiful and vibrant island flower inspired look! Its perfect for beach parties, festivals and all those summer adventures
We want to start this look with a flawless skin, so lets apply a shimmer primer - this will give radiance to the skin even beneath foundation and will catch the light beautifully. We are buffing some Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow onto our face and neck with our Bella&Bear Jaguar Angled Kabuki brush.
To follow we're going in with our foundation, we used the Makeup Forever HD Foundation for this look as it has good wearability and full coverage. We blended this on the face and neck with outward strokes for a streak free finish again using our Bella&Bear Jaguar Angled Kabuki.
To disguise any blemishes and dark spots we took our Essence Stay All Day concealer and blended it into our foundation with our Bella&Bear Golden Cat Concealer brush. We also blended some concealer in a fan shape onto our forehead to add light to the area.
Then, to keep that concealer in place all day we went in with our translucent powder. You could do this all over the face if you prefer a matte look but we focused on just the concealer areas to keep a dewy look on the skin. We dusted some Essence All About Matte Fixing powder onto the skin with our Bella&Bear Leopard Face Brush.
Lets work on those poppin' eyes. After applying a primer (we used the Urban Decay Primer Potion) over the eyelids we took our Bella&Bear Iromote brush and some Maybelline 24hr tattoo shadow in 'Creamy Beige' and we applied it all over the lid and into the inner corner - this will act as a base for our shadow making the colours all the more vibrant.
Next we took our Bella&Bear Bornean Bay Cat Brush and a bright pink shadow - we actually used the NYX Powder Blush in 'Pinched' for this, and we are applying it to the outer two thirds of the lid, working it into the crease in a windscreen wiper motion to create depth.
Then, picking up our Bella&Bear Leopard Cat Pencil brush and a bright yellow matte shadow we are working it into the inner corner of the eye. We used the BH Cosmetics Take me to Brazil Palette for our shadows.
Let's also add colour to the lower lash line. Taking our Bella&Bear Fishing Cat brush and some Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Shadow in 'Endless Purple' we are going to line the area just below the lower lashes and we are then going to top it with a purple shadow to keep the colour bright and in place.
For the ultimate lashes we are starting by curling our lashes with our Bella&Bear Eye and Mighty curlers. These curlers are perfect for adding length and creating a fanned our look to the lashes.
Before applying our mascara we moved onto liner. We used our Bella&Bear Caracal liner brush (you could also use your Serval angled liner brush) to create a thin wing along the top lash line - we used the ABH Waterproof Creme Colour for this. We added to this by joining the bottom lash line to the liner wing with some Maybelline 24hr color tattoo in 'Turquoise Forever'. Such a beautiful array of colours!
Now, back to those lashes! After applying a coat of our fave mascara - TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara - we used our Bella&Bear Angled Tweezers to place a set of falsies as close to the natural lash line as possible. This will make for a more dramatic eye!
To frame the eyes lets fill in those brows. Using our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx Brow brush we are filling in and defining the brows with some Freedom Makeup Brow Pomade and we are then using the spoolie end of the brush to go through the hairs, dispersing any excess product.
We also wanted to add some sparkle to the eyes, but in a different fashion, so we are placing some glitter fix (or eyelash glue) just below the brow, following the shape. We are then using our Bella&Bear Pointed Tweezers to gently place some hexagonal glitter along the glue line. Be sure to take your time with this and use whichever colour glitter pieces you like best - we used silver!
Now lets add a flush of colour to face! We're taking a matte bronzer and our Bella&Bear Bobcat Angled Blush Brush and we're generously dusting the cheekbones, the temples and the sides of the nose with it. (psst, we used Benefit's Hoola Bronzer).
For a gorgeous glow lets a dd a white highlight! We love the IHeartMakeup Blushing Hearts in IcedHearts for this look and we dusted the face with it using our Bella&Bear Cheetah Duo Fiber Powder Brush! Be sure to focus on your cheekbones and temples when you highlight, you want your glow to be seen from space for this look!
Finally, lets add a statement lip to bring the look together. We applied some Limecrime Velvetine in 'Pink Velvet' to our lips with our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip Brush. This brush allows you to be super precise and neat with your application and also ensures and even coat of product.
To finish, we sprayed the face with our fave setting spray - Urban Decay All Nighter! This will keep your makeup in place and will also add a fresh glow to the skin.
For a real statement look, lets add a wig! But, you need to do some prep before putting your wig on so lets start by brushing through the locks with your Bella&Bear The Bear Paddle brush to get rid of any knots and tangles!
Then, part your hair in the middle and create a tight braid on each side of the head. These don't need to be neat but should be tight to keep them in place. Finally, taking some bobbypins, fix the braid to the back of the head, keeping them as flat to the head as possible.
You can then pop your wig on and style it as you wish! We got this wig here, and finished everything off with a beautiful flower crown!
