Labor Day Look!
Its time to celebrate all of our hard workers. Yes, labor day is here! Time to take some precious time out with friends and family to be thankful for all those who have contributed! So, today, we're showing you how to get this cute labor day look perfect for those barbecues and festivities with your loved ones. This look is minimal but beautiful.
We are starting with our base, keeping it smooth and flawless. So of course, we first need to prime. We're using the Benefit Porefessional Pearl primer and we are working it over the face with our fingertips, allowing time to sink in.
Once thats done, we are going in with our foundation, opting for a full coverage one here. We use our Bella&Bear Jaguar angled kabuki to smooth some MUFE Ultra HD foundation over the skin, we also mixed it in with a little L'Oreal Primer shot in lumizer. We work our foundation over the skin in downward and outward motions for a streak-free finish. Adding in some liquid highlight will give the skin a subtle and beautiful glow from within.
To keep the skin looking bright and fresh we are next going in with a concealer. We're using the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer, applying it to the under eyes, the forehead and the chin, as well as over any blemishes. We blend it into our foundation using our Bella&Bear Ocelot concealer brush.
We want to keep the skin dewy for this look, but we must set that concealer to prevent it from sliding and creasing, so we next take our Bella&Bear Leopard Face brush, as well as some Essence all about matte translucent setting powder and we press it over the concealer. If you have an oily skin or you prefer a matte look then go ahead and use your Bella&Bear Tiger brush to dust the whole face with your translucent powder.
We lock that in place with a light spritz of our Revolution Oil Control fixing spray, working in an X shape across the face followed by a T shape along the forehead and down the nose.
Lets start working on the eyes now. We're keeping them natural and neutral to compliment the skin. We start by patting some TooFaced Shadow insurance over the lid and up to the brow bone.
To even out the skin tone on the eyes we next use our Bella&Bear Sand Cat to work a matte ivory shadow over the lid. We are using the Lick&Lash warm colour palette for this look.
Now, taking our first neutral hue, we use our Bella&Bear Jaguarundy to work a matte light brown shadow into the crease of the eyelid, using a windscreen wiper motion for even distribution of the colour.
To deepen the colour a little and add definition to the eye we are now using our Bella&Bear Bornean Bay Cat brush to work a matte chocolate brown shadow onto the outer third of the eye, bringing it to a small wing shape.
We want to line our eyes for this look, but we are using a brown liner to keep it softer looking and less harsh. we use the MUA intense colour pencil in Rich Brown here.
Now, lets work on the lashes. We begin by curling them for some lift using our Bella&Bear Eye and Mighty curlers. We always curl the lashes before applying mascara to prevent the lashes from snapping off or kinking at an odd angle. We lock that curl in with a coat of our fave mascara - Epic by Younique.
Even though this a natural look, we want to intensify the eyes a little so we are applying some natural looking false lashes. We use our Bella&Bear Angled tweezers to place some Ardell Demi wispies falsies as close to the natural lash line as possible for an undetectable finish.
To finish off the eyes, we take our Bella&Bear Marbled cat brush and we work some brown shimmer shadow along the lower lash line, pulling it downward for a softer application.
We want to work on our brows now to frame the eyes. Taking the spoolie end of our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx Brow Brush, we push it through the hairs, shaping and taming them.
We then use the brush end to work some Collection Brow Bar brow powder through the hairs, filling in any sparser areas and defining the shape. A brow powder will be less harsh than a liquid or gel product, but you can use whatever you like best.
As for our skin, we are again keeping it light and natural, so we are taking a dusty pink blush and our Bella&Bear Tiger brush and we work it directly onto the apples of the cheeks. We have used the MUA blushed powder in 'Rose Tea' here.
We also want to add a little highlight to make the skin radiant so we are taking a champagne highlight and we are dusting it over the cheekbones, the tip of the nose and the cupids bow using our Bella&Bear Cheetah Duo Fiber Powder brush. We also use our Bella&Bear margay cat brush to highlight the inner corners of the eyes and the brow bones.
We once again spritz the face with our setting spray to lock that in place.
To finish the look we are going to work on the lips, we are also keeping them natural and neutral for this look. We first line the lips with the Essence soft berry liner.
Then, taking our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip brush we fill the lips in with some Revolution Renaissance lipstick in 'greatest'.
As one final touch we use our Bella&Bear Margay Cat brush to gently pat some of that same highlight into the centre of the bottom lip.
For our hair we are also going to keep it mininmal yet elegant. We start by brushing it through with our Bella&Bear Detangler to free it of any knots and keep it sleek. And we follow by loosely curling the ends of the hair to add a little volume.
