Lash Hack Guide

Lashes are a big deal, just a simple coat of mascara can take a look from everyday to everything! And, in the summer its nice to wear minimal makeup to let your skin breathe and keep it fresh, so a good set of lashes can make all the difference. In todays post we are sharing our top lash hacks with you so you can get your best lashes ever!

USE MATTE EYESHADOW TO ADD FULLNESS TO LASHES
You may have heard of the baby powder hack?! Dusting the lashes with baby powder between coats of mascara to make them appear fuller and thicker - but this can often leave a white residue on the lashes making them look messy and strange... so why not try dusting them with a matte shadow instead? Use a matte shadow which matches your chosen mascara colour between coats to give lashes a fuller look and keep them neat and tidy!

HEAT YOUR CURLER WITH WATER
We've all tried the 'heat your curler with your hairdryer' hack, right? And as good as it is, its also fiddly and often leads to burned fingers. Instead, heat your Bella&Bear Eye and Mighty curler by dipping the curler mechanism and lash pad into hot water for 5-10 seconds, it'll heat your curler more evenly and avoid burning your hands. Once its heated, simply dry it off and curl, then repeat for your other eye!

KEEP YOUR SPOOLIE CLEAN
Whether your using a mascara wand or your Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx spoolie for your eyes and brows its important to keep your tools clean and contact lens solution is ideal for this; its safe for the eyes and easy to pick up.
Simply soak a cotton disc or paper towel in the solution and roll your spoolie on it over and over to remove gunk and old product; it'll keep your spoolie hygienic and also freshen up the bristles giving a smooth and clean product application for gorgeous lashes every time.

WRAP FALSIES AROUND AN EYESHADOW BRUSH BEFORE APPLYING
Falsies are a great way to add a little extra something to your look but they often come out of the packaging with a straight band which doesn't fit the shape of your eye. To combat this, simply wrap them around an eye shadow brush for a few minutes before applying them to bend the band a little and give them a more natural shape.

USE A LIP BRUSH ON YOUR BOTTOM LASHES
To give your bottom lashes a fuller look use your Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat lip brush to work mascara through them! Simply roll your mascara wand onto a piece of tissue or paper to remove some product off of it, load it up onto your brush and then work it onto your bottom lashes (focusing on the roots) to darken them up and make them appear fuller, thicker and gorgeous!

USE YOUR TWEEZERS TO REMOVE GLUE
Your Bella&Bear tweezers aren't just good for removing those stray hairs ya know! You can use your pointed tweezers to gently pull dried glue off of the band of your falsies, making them as good as new and undetectable once applied again!

ALWAYS CURL FIRST
As tempting as it is to curl your lashes after you've applied your mascara, take it from us - just don't do it! You could snap your lashes clean off making them short and stubby! Instead, curl your lashes first with your Bella&Bear Eye and Mighty Curlers and then lock in that curl with your coats of mascara. The results? Gorgeous fanned out, curly lashes that'll last all day!

RUN IT UNDER THE TAP
If your mascara is a little past it's best but you don't have time to go out and grab a new one, try this handy hack. Run your tube under warm water to loosen the product, freshening it up and giving it a new lease of life! This isn't a long term solution as mascara does have a shelf life (3 months FYI), but it is a great tip if you're next shopping trip isnt coming uip for a few days!
