Mothers Day Makeup Look

Mothers day calls for celebration! Whether you're cooking lunch for the family, visiting a local eaterie or even taking mum shopping, its nice to get dressed up for the occasion.

In today's post we are showing you how to get this beautiful mothers day look; it's got seasonal spring colours, pretty lashes and a gorgeous glow!

We're going to start by working on the skin. After applying our primer to the face we are going to go in with our base. We want a soft glow for this look so we are mixing some full coverage foundation - we love Estee Lauder's Double Wear - and some liquid highlight - Loreal infallible primer shot in 'Luminizing' is our current fave. We are then blending this over the face with our Bella&Bear Jaguar angled kabuki, making sure to work product slightly down the neck to avoid tide lines.

Next, lets go in with some concealer to really give a flawless and bright finish to the skin. We're taking our Bella&Bear Ocelot Concealer brush and were working some Essence Camouflage Concealer over any concern areas on the face with it; dark circles, blemishes and the like. Our brush will seamlessly blend your concealer into your foundation for an undetectable finish.

Now, we want to set that concealer. We're using our Bella&Bear The Leopard powder brush to press some Morphe setting powder over our concealer. We want a dewy finish to the skin for this look so we are just focusing our powder on the areas we applied concealer too but if you prefer a matte finish or have an oily skin then you can go ahead and apply your powder all over the face.

To add some depth back into the skin and keep it from looking flat we are going to go in with a bronzer - we prefer a matte finish one here as our eyes are going to be all about that sparkle instead - so we are using some Hoola By Benefit and we are working it over the hollows of the cheeks, around the hairline and on the temples with our Bella&Bear Bobcat angled powder brush.

We also want a cute flush of colours to the cheeks for this look so we are taking a rosy pink blush (we're using the Revolution Blush Palette in 'Sugar&Spice' ) and working it onto the apples of our cheeks with our Bella&Bear Cheetah Duo Fiber powder brush - you could use a matte or shimmer finish blush, whichever you prefer! This is perfect for a spring time look!

We are then spritzing the face with a setting spray to lock everything in place. We love the Makeup Revolution Oil Control Fixing Mist.

Now, lets work on the eyes! First, of course, we are going to apply an eye shadow primer over the lids and right up to the brow bone to even out the surface and to give our shadows something to really grip to, keeping them in place. primer of choice; TooFaced Shadow Insurance

Now, we are going to create a spotlight effect on the eye, so we are first going to take a matte aubergine shadow - we're using the BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil palette here - and we are going to work it onto the inner and outer thirds of the eye using our Bella&Bear Marbled Cat brush, leaving a gap on the centre of the lid. Be sure to blend the shadows are the edges to avoid harsh lines.

Lets next take our Bella&Bear Iromote brush and spritz it with some of the setting spray we used earlier, we are then going to pick up a shimmer baby pink shadow (we love the MUA Elysium Palette) and press it onto the centre of the lid in that gap we left. Spritzing your brush with a setting spray will help to intensify the colour of your shadow for ultimate payoff!

You can then go in with your Bella&Bear Bornean Bay Cat brush and blend the colours together for a softer finish.

Using our Bella&Bear Sand Cat brush, we are then taking a matte flesh toned shadow and gently working it along the top of the colours as our transition shade, again to soften the edges and make them less dramatic and harsh.

Now, taking our Bella&Bear Marbled Cat brush again and that same aubergine shadow we are going to work it along the lower lash line to balance out the colour.

To subtly define the eyes we are going to go in with our Bella&Bear Serval angled liner brush and some ELF Gel Liner and we are creating a thin, sweeping wing along the upper lash line. You can extend this out if you like but we are keeping it quite fine and natural looking.

To open the eyes we are going to curl the lashes using our Bella&Bear Eye&Mighty Lash curler, curling for 20 seconds on each eye. This will lift the lashes and make the eyes appear larger and more awake! We then applied a coat of our fave mascara - They're Real by Benefit - to the top and bottom lashes.

If, like us, you want to add something a little extra to the look then how about going in with some falsies? We applied some wispy, long lashes as close to the natural lash line as possible using our Bella&Bear Angled tweezers. We love the Ardell Demi Wispies.

Let's frame those dazzling eyes with some killer brows. After brushing the hairs through with the spoolie end of our Bella&Bear Iberain Lynx Brow brush to groom them, we are going to take the brush end and some Freedom makeup brow pomade and we are going to fill in and define the shape of the brows.

You can finish the brows by again brushing through with your spoolie to disperse excess product and to make for a softer, more natural finish.

Now, lets take our Bella&Bear Margay Cat brush and add some glow to the skin! We are dusting some IHeartMakeup Blushing Hearts highlight in 'Iced Hearts' over the cheekbones, the temples, the brow bones, the inner corners of the eyes, the tip of the nose and the cupids bow.

To throw in another pretty spring shade we are going to fill in the lips with a blush pink - but first we need to line them to keep our lipstick in place and to stop it from feathering and bleeding out. We're using the Essence Lip Liner in Satin Mauve to line the lips.

We are then taking our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip brush and we are using it to paint the lips with some Revolution makeup Renaissance Lipstick in 'Greatest' .

You can then finish with a final spritz of setting spray to lock everything in place!

Give your hair a brush through with your Bella&Bear The Bear Paddle brush to keep it smooth and sleek and you'll be good to go!
