Traditional Christmas Look

Here at Bella&Bear we love a bit of Vintage glam, and we think Christmas is the perfect time to rock a traditional vibe; think tartan, red lips, winged liner. Its a simple look that has stood the test of time and its easier to create than you think. Follow our easy step by step guide to achieve a traditional look this Christmas and check out our shopping guide at the bottom of this post featuring some of our fave tartan pieces.

We're staring this look with the eyes. Taking a band aid (one for each eye) we are placing it diagonally along the eye as a guide for our shadows and liner. You could use tape for this but we prefer band aids as they are designed for use on the skin, so will be kinder to it.

After applying some Urban Decay Primer Potion to the lids we took our Bella&Bear 'Bornean Bay Cat' brush and a matte brown shadow (like 'Soft&Sexy' from the Zoeva Naturally Yours palette) and we gently worked it along the crease with a windscreen wiper motion.

To further define the crease we took our Bella&Bear pencil brush and a matte black shadow and dusted it into the outer edge of the crease. We then took a matte cream shadow on our ring finger and applied it to the rest of the lid.

Then, taking our brand new Bella&Bear Serval Liner Brush we are using the 'guide' to create a subtle wing - make sure it's elongated for an extra feminine finish!

Let's start work on the base. After applying some Gerard Cosmetics BB+ Illumination creme all over the face we are taking our new Bella&Bear Jaguar Angled Kabuki and we are using it to buff and blend our foundation into the face and neck. We are loving the TooFaced Born This Way foundation.

To cover any dark circles and blemishes and create a flawless finish we are going to apply some concealer. We blended the concealer into our base makeup with our Bella &Bear Golden Cat Small Concealer Brush - this brush is perfect as it is small enough to get into all the curves of your face, such as the sides of your nose.

Let's set the concealer to keep it in place all day and avoid any sliding. We want this look to have a glowy, dewy finish so we are only applying powder to the areas where our concealer was applied. We are using our Bella&Bear Tiger Powder brush and the Essence All About Matte Translucent powder.

Now, we're going to enhance the eyes. After applying a thin coat of mascara we added some natural flared falsies. We applied the falsies as close to the natural lash line as possible, using our Bella&Bear angled tweezers for precision.

Next, we framed the eyes by defining our brows. You could use a pencil but we wanted our brows to be statement for this look so we used our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx Brow brush and we filled them in with some Freedom Makeup brow pomade. We then brushed them through with the spoolie end to even out any excess product. Perfect!

Lets add a little 'rouge' to the cheeks. Taking our Bella&Bear Leopard face brush we are applying a matte pink blush to the apples of the cheeks, blending upwards. We used the BH Cosmetics blush and contour palette for this.

Finally, lets add that classy, vintage red lip. We lined the lips to achieve the shape we wanted and we then used our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lipbrush to fill in the lip - we used the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip in 'Reckless', it's a real true red which is great for a vintage look.

You could then spritz the face with a setting spray to keep the look in place all day.

As for our hair, we used our Bella&Bear Paddle brush to make a side parting and we then created a Victory Roll with the front portion of hair. We curled the remaining hair and brushed through for a vintage vibe and set in place with hairspray!
